The Structure and Syllabus of IBPS PO Exam 2012 is same as we have in previous PO Exam 2012.So if you have appeared in the previous IBPS PO exam 2012, then you must know the syllabus and if you are one of those who are appearing for IBPS PO Exam in 2012 for the first time, then you must go the Syllabus of written exam given below
The Common Written Exam for IBPS PO Recruitment 2012, will consists of both Objective as well as descriptive test.
Objective test: The Objective test is of 225 marks that contains sections such as Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.There is a composite time of 150 minutes to attempt the Objective question Paper.The Structure of IBPS PO Objective Question Paper is given below:
Descriptive Test: The Descriptive test is basically the English Language Writing skills of the candidates. Students must have to appear and qualify the Descriptive test, in order to be declared as PASS in the IBPS PO exam 2012.The minimum qualifying marks for the Descriptive paper as in IBPS PO exam 2011 in 24.
It is worth mentioning here that Descriptive papers of only those candidates will be evaluated who will qualify the Objective test. The Descriptive Paper is of 60 marks with a duration of 1 hour
Negative Marks: While attempting Objective Type questions, students must note that there is penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer marked.It is advisable that students must attempt the questions with utmost care as negative marks could hamper your performance in the IBPS PO exam 2012
Minimum Cut Off Marks: Students must note that they will have to obtain the minimum Cuff off marks in each of the Objective tests separately, this means that students will have qualify each of the Objective tests separately.In the previous IBPS PO Exam 2011, the minimum cut off marks in each of the section is 24 marks (for Gen Category) and 21 (For Others).
Total Weighted Score: Apart from the Minimum qualifying marks, students must obtain the minimum marks in the Total Weighted Score.The minimum TWS in the previous IBPS exam was 120.Another important thing is that students must try to rank preferably higher in the order of merit so that they can maximise their chances for getting calls from the Top 19 Public Sector banks
